March Report Card and April Goals

So I am very pleased to announce that I did fantastically on my March Goals!

1) Put $200 towards my trip to the Dominican Republic: A++
I had almost $200 saved before I received birthday money, but afterwards I was able to put in a total of over $400!! I am getting so close now! I can hardly wait until June!

2) Finish English with an A: A+
I was REALLY worried about English because of on grade that I got on the first paper I wrote, but I worked really hard and ended the class with an A! I actually got a 100 on the research paper, which is a really big deal for me, because I often make small grammar mistakes that cost lots of points.

3) Catch up on Economics and Physics: A
After finishing English I had a week or so to get caught up on my other subjects, and I actually stayed motivated! Surprise, I know. :)

4) Run three times a week: B
I was able to keep up with this for the first couple weeks of March, which was great! Then I ran my first 5 mile run for St. Patrick's Day, which was super fun! Unfortunately, because I wasn't used to running that far, I got minor shin splints in my leg, and I had to take a break for the next couple weeks. But I'm better now and will go back to running this month!
Do you like my St Patty's Outfit? The socks are my favorite!
And now for my April Goals:

1) Put $100 towards my trip to the DR (I would say more but I'm going home this month and so I won't be able to work)

2) Don't go crazy waiting for April 16th

3) Keep my room clean; stop just dumping stuff on the extra bed

4) Get on top of blogging! No more of this blog after the fact!

Super Bowl Style

I am not a football person. I don't understand it, I don't particularly enjoy watching it, and yet I go to the Super Bowl parties. Why? Because I am a social person and I like to eat. Yesterday was no different. I went to the on post youth group's Super Bowl party, and I had a blast! However, because I am not a football person, I had no idea who to root for, and thus what to wear. I obviously do not have a team jersey I can wear! Someone had told me that the two teams were red and purple, and my mother had the fabulous idea of wearing both!
I am wearing a red long sleeved top, a purple sweater, a black skirt, red tights, purple knee-high socks with red triangles, my wool multi-colored TOMS, my red scarf, and a purple ring that is way too big for any of my fingers so it kept falling off. This picture was taken before I had earrings on, but I was also wearing cute little ladybug earrings. And thus whichever team won, I could technically say I rooted for them by wearing their team colors. :) I also made cookies, because I can't go to a party without making something sweet and they were fabulous, if I do say so myself. I found the recipe on Pinterest (I'm addicted). They were cookie dough on the bottom, then a layer of oreos, then brownies; baked at 350 for 35 minutes. SO RICH. SO GOOD. But be warned, take these somewhere because if you leave them home you will eat them all and gain 20 pounds. I'm not kidding, they are addicting.

October Dress Project: Day Nineteen

Hello Everyone! My sister's home from college! Plus my grandmother is in town and my dad's on a retreat so we celebrated by making pumpkin donuts! Anyways, we were going to go to the fair today, but unfortunately all the parking was full so we couldn't go.

So today I wore the dress, a teal top over, teal and black knee high socks (I love socks!!) and black flats. I ended up taking it off early though because I didn't want to get grease on it from the donuts, which were delicious.
And tomorrow I run the Color Me Rad 5k! I'm super duper excited!! :)

October Dress Project: Day Eleven

So I was away from my normal photographers (mom, dad, and sister), so my amazing friend Carolanne took my picture today. She's much more into taking pictures, so this one was posed. (as if that's not obvious...)
Anyways, today was another babysitting day, so I wanted to be functional but fun. I also didn't have very much time to get ready so it doesn't go very well together... I'm wearing The Dress, my TeenPact shirt (yes, I'm a proud convert), a necklace my sister got me in Rwanda, mismatched knee-high socks (see my post about socks here), converse from my Grandma Sharon, and earrings that I actually bought full price (shock and awe, I know)! What are your thoughts on Day Eleven?

Fall is Here!

So it was under 60 degrees this morning which means...It's fall!! I'm so excited for fall sweaters, boots, and knee high socks! So in celebration of the first day of fall I wore all three! :)

Add caption
As you can see, I'm wearing a long skirt as a short skirt (see my post about that here), my fall sweater, my fall colored knee-high socks (see my post about that here), and my cowboy boots. I'm so excited for fall! :) What are your favourite ways to wear fall colours?

Socks, the Knee-High Kind

I love socks. They are amazing. Apparently, people have caught on to this love of socks, because I keep receiving socks as presents, which is ok with me! I now have 8 pairs of knee-high socks. It seems that socks are normal thing to comment on, or at least an easy thing to comment on, because people always comment. I even had a random ride-runner at the fair tell me he liked my socks, which was interesting. Anyway, since I love them so much, I thought I'd share them with you and give you a little history on my sock collection. :)
I recently received these socks for my birthday. It turns out they match this green shirt I have perfectly, so I wore them right away!
I got these miss-matched socks, along with another one that has stars on it, in Washington DC some years back. These are the ones that evoked a comment from the fair guy... Good thing? Hmm..
My lovely sister got me these socks for me for Christmas last year, I love the buttons!!
I'm not actually sure whether my mom got these for me or my grandma did, but I got them awhile ago. They pretty much go with anything and can be worn anywhere. Plus, they're adorable! :)
My Grandma picked out these socks for me for Christmas last year, they actually have pink and red triangles on them. When I wore them the first time with red shoes, and a pink and purple shirt my sister and I argued for a good 5 minutes about whether the socks actually had red on them. Needless to say, I won.
These are actually the first knee-high socks I received, and I got them to wear underneath a pair of boots that I have. They soon made it out from under the boots!
I suppose these don't particularly count as socks, but I added them in anyway, because I love them! When I showed them to my mom after I bought them I could sense some disapproval. "You don't like them?" I asked. She replied, "I didn't think leg warmers were cute when they were in style, no I don't like them." I wear them anyway...
And lastly, these I received for my most recent birthday from my Aunt. They will most definitely be worn on Easter Sunday. (And maybe Saturday too...)

So anyway, that's my tale of socks, because socks are amazing. They liven up any outfit and make me feel little again! :)
